Voter Information
I really believe in the importance of registering to vote and
being part of our democratic political process, and I want to
share just a few reasons you should be sure to register if you
haven't already:
1. Each citizen has an important opportunity get involved, ask
questions and look at all available information about each candidate
so they can make an informed decision about how to vote.
2. Voting provides a medium for citizens to support the democratic
structure. Registering to vote means that you believe in the democratic
process and will participate in it to represent your right to
freedom of speech. Casting your vote is one of the most effective
ways of getting your voice heard!
3. Showing up at the poll on voting day sets a good example to
others. Civic awareness is an important part of good citizenship.
Discuss the candidates with your family and make a point of mentioning
you plan to vote, or wearing the pin or sticker distributed at
many polls that reads "I voted today."
4. Finally, taking time to vote reflects pride in your nation
and its government. By registering to vote and getting involved
in the voting process, you are showing that you care about the
direction of our great state. If you are not currently registered
to vote, please be sure call or stop in at the electoral office
in your community to get signed up.
